Deathly Hallows up for Auction
Joanne Rowling donated a signed copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to a charity auction to raise money for the Hibiscus Children's Center in Florida. She is one of over 80 celebrities contributing to the Little Auction That Could many having signed their own favorite childhood book.Beginning today, November 5th, the books autographed by authors, celebrities and public figures will be available for auction by phone or online. There is also an exhibit of the collection at the Elliot Museum in Florida running through the month. It all leads up to the main event on November 20th, Laughing Out Loud for Literacy a "fast-paced evening full of fun and surprises" hosted by Floridian author Carl Haissen at the Lyric Theater in Stuart, FL. JKR's book will be one of the dozen auctioned live that night. All proceeds will benefit Hibiscus Children's Center which provides many services for abused and neglected children, including housing, education and mental health care.
